Joe Mahoney is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist working in still images, video and sound.
Mahoney was a staff photographer the Rocky Mountain News in Denver for ten years. He began his career with the Associated Press and spent nine years there.
Most recently, he spent six years helping build an investigative journalism start up that merged with the PBS affiliate in Denver where he continued to shoot, edit and produce short documentaries on public policy topics.
In 2000 and 2003, he won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography, with the photo team at the News, for coverage of the Columbine High School shooting and the wildfires that devastated Colorado. He was the assistant producer of "Final Edition" that won a 2010 regional EMMY for Topical Documentary.
Today, he runs MahoneyImages and clients include Getty Images, The Colorado Trust, The Associated Press, UnitedHealthcare, CoBank and others.
